Swim England Stage 2 - Supported by Dolphin 1, 2 and 3
Learn to Swim Classes for children confident with their faces in water & starting to swim without the use of buoyancy aids.
Having achieved a good level of water confidence and ease in the water as well as feeling comfortable with faces in the water this level builds the aquatic breathing along with developing safe entries into the water, floating, travel front and back up to a distance of 5 metres, and rotating the body to regain an upright position. Children will be assessed without the use of buoyancy aids or support. All four competitive strokes are practised.
The 11 week course costs £165 (£15.00 per lesson).
On Completion of this stage your child will be able to:-

Jump in from poolside safely

Blow bubbles in a minimum of three times rhythmically, with nose and mouth submerged

Move from a flat floating position on the back and return to standing without support

Move from a flat floating position on the front and return to standing without support

Push from a wall and glide on the back – arms can be by the side or above the head

Push from a wall and glide on the front with arms extended

Travel using a recognised leg action with feet off the pool floor on the back for 5 metres, without the use of floatation equipment

Perform a tuck to rotate from a flat floating position on the front, to a back floating position, then return to standing

Exit the water safely, without support
Swim England stages can be difficult to achieve termly so we ensure children do not get dis-hearted by awarding them with our own Little Swim Club certificates free of charge at the end of each term and these are a very important part of our achievements process.
