Hi, I'm Sophia, mum to Phoenix aged 5 and Hunter aged 3, and we live in Basingstoke.

We love swimming and are huge advocates of The Little Swim club in Hook.

Our journey:

Phoenix started swimming at The Little Swim Club before she was 6 months old, Hunter from 6 weeks old. We chose The Little Swim club, due to the warm swimming pools, size of the classes - small groups making it more a personal experience ensuring each child received attention, and as a parent I got the support I needed to swim with my children as babies. Both kids have been taught by a few of the different instructors, each bring a different fun approach to the lessons. My kids have enjoyed each session and are always excited for the next one.

Skills:

We saw a huge improvement when Phoenix moved to 'swimming solo' with just the instructors in the pool. She became more confident in swimming alone and jumping into the pool. Her favourite skill is diving under to collect the object from the bottom of the pool. Hunter loves 'Monkey, Monkey' along the pool edge, he'll try to go from one end to the other. Having had a solo (no parent) swim lesson, Hunter showed a huge improvement in his confidence in swimming and wanting to learn.

Skill for life:

Anyone looking for swimming lessons, for any age we could not recommend The Little Swim Club enough. The adult and child swim lessons not only allow your babies to get used to being in the water and going under, but also begin to learn the basics. All whilst teaching the parents how to support your baby and giving you the encouragement and confidence to be able to swim safely while having fun. As the kids progress they continue to work on the basics while bringing in the different Swim techniques.

Each term they have a water safety lesson reminding kids how to be safe near and in the water.

Any age is a great age to start swimming, (it is never too late) for safety, confidence, exercise and most importantly fun!
